Our
Programme
Each of our programmes offer a holistic approach, supporting children throughout their entire early childhood journey—from infancy to the first day of school. Our programmes are designed to build seamlessly upon one another, evolving naturally to meet the growing needs of each child.
Families can find comfort in knowing that their child can remain with us through each stage of their development, without the need to transition to larger centres, preschools, or kindergartens. By providing a continuous, nurturing environment, we ensure that children experience consistent care and support, which fosters their growth and development in a familiar and loving setting.
Our commitment is to be a reliable partner in your child’s early years, offering a stable and enriching experience tailored to their evolving needs.
In our home-based childcare programme for children under three, we create nurturing home environments that respect each child's uniqueness. With only 2 children under 2 years old with a maximum of 4 children per educator, a calm and peaceful environment is fostered. This low ratio helps our youngest ones feel connected and confident to explore their surroundings at their own rhythm.
Drawing from both Magda Gerber’s / RIE and Emmi Pikler’s approach to early childhood care, our educators emphasise a deep respect for the child's pace and individuality, creating an environment where children can flourish emotionally, socially, and cognitively through self-directed exploration and interaction.
Children engage in enriching community activities and spend time in nature, which supports their holistic development. Our intention is to plant seeds of love and joy in their hearts, nurturing their growth and development from the very start.
This programme is a fully-emersed "Home-based" childcare for children aged 3 to 5 that focuses on fostering a supportive environment that respects each child's growing independence and unique interests. With a small ratio of 4 children to one educator, we can encourage preschoolers to confidently explore and engage with their surroundings on their own terms. Children are actively involved in community activities and spend ample time in nature at local reserves and playgrounds.
We believe in empowering them to take an active role in their learning journey, providing opportunities to develop their skills and pursue their interests. Our aim is to cultivate a foundation of trust and to support their growth and development, helping them to thrive as capable, curious, and confident individuals.
Wilderness Kindy for 3 -5 Year Olds
Our wilderness programme embraces the profound benefits of immersing children in nature, where every day is a new adventure. Children in this programme still have a home base that is combined with an emphasis on extended adventures in local wilderness area, Lake Hāwea Station (LHS). Additional excursions to forests, walking tracks, local lakes and rivers, natural reserves, and more is included.
With genuinely supportive ratios of 4 children per educator, children can benefit from the safe and supportive scaffolding that their educator provides. Within these diverse nature-based settings, children engage in natural play that fosters a deep connection with their environment and to one another. Children enrolled in the Wilderness programme come together at LHS, to become a cohort of learners of just 12 children with 3 educators. We feel this is a good-sized group that supports best practices and safe spaces while still being an adventurous learning environment, it is a lovely size for children to widen their friendship group.
By navigating real-world challenges and natural risks, they build confidence and resilience, learning to problem-solve and adapt in creative ways. The wilderness offers an ever-changing classroom, encouraging exploration and discovery that enhances their curiosity and imagination.
This hands-on approach not only supports their physical development but also nurtures emotional growth, allowing them to become more confident, resourceful, and innovative individuals.
Does your child LOVE being outside? Then this nature-based early childhood programme may be the perfect fit.
